Description SHIFT: PRN SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem Located in central Austin, St. David's Medical Center includes a 350-bed acute care hospital and a 64- bed rehabilitation hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. It is home to the internationally renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David's Neuroscience & Spine Institute . The hospital provides a complete range of women's services, including its acclaimed maternity unit, maternal-fetal medicine, a high-risk maternal and neonatal transport team, the region's largest and most sophisticated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and The Breast Center ; complex surgical services; a comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center ; and a 24-hour emergency department. This team-oriented unit provides outstanding nursing services to patients with a variety of medical conditions such as pneumonia, diabetes, cancer , bariatric surgery, surgical oncology and renal disease. Nurses provide the primary patient care with assistance from patient care techs and unit clerks . The unit has chemotherapy-trained nurses that provide chemotherapy throughout the campus. Shifts available: various, the unit is a 24-hour, seven day a week department. Position Description The Position is under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Supervisor of the Nursing Unit. According to hospital policies and procedures, the Staff Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients. Qualifications Education/Experience Required : Graduation from an NLN school of professional nursing. Preferred : Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN degree. License/Certification Required : Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas. Current certification from the American Heart Association as a BLS provider. Preferred : Certification in area of specialty.
