Description SHIFT: No Weekends SCHEDULE: Full-time Registered Nurse / RN - Day Surgery RN Schedule: Full Time Shift: 2 Options (See Below) 6:00AM - 6:00PM (3/12s) OR 6:00AM - 3:30PM (4 / 9s) Medical City Dallas is currently looking for amazing nurses to join our team! Nurses who apply should feel like they have been called to take care of cancer patients in a world class setting providing patient-center care. As a Day Surgery RN... Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the in-patient and out-patient Day Surgery service line. Use therapeutic communication in daily practice Maintain a safe and therapeutic Day Surgery environment Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual Day Surgery patients Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding healthcare Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver Participate in Day Surgery specific initiatives and process improvement Promote a supportive Day Surgery environment Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs Maintain high quality (age specific) care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as assigned Support the mission, vision and values of the organization About Medical City Hospital Dallas Medical City was the first hospital in North Texas to achieve magnet status and is a very \"special\" ANCC Magnet medical center located in Dallas that is designed with the health and well-being of the entire family. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position Acute care experience within last 5 years required Experience with infant to adult Day Surgery patients, preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license Current American Heart Association BLS provider
