**You Will Be Responsible For:**
+ Opening and closing kitchen and cafeteria, monitoring food and equipment temperatures per HACCP requirements, recording and verifying diets, providing production personnel with quantities and diet types, delivers food to floors and other departments and retrieves soiled trays, delivers snacks to diabetic patients, monitors tray line for accuracy.
+ Supervises the performance of staff and ensures timely and quality presentation of patient and retail food service.
+ The diet clerk is responsible for monitoring of all department functions during their shift (in the absence if a dietary supervisor, hospital chef, or manager).
+ The diet clerk will record any department deficiencies and or areas of concern and bring that to the attention of the dietary supervisor, hospital chef, or manager the next day.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** :
+ In the absence of a Dietary Supervisor, directly supervises 5 to 8 subordinates. Is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of these employees.
+ In the absence of a supervisor carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. In conducting these activities the Diet Clerk will exercise independent judgment and discretion in the interest of Central Texas Medical Center. Responsibilities include: planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems, and reporting any employee performance concerns or non-optimal department operational issues to the dietary supervisor, hospital chef and or department manager.
**What You Will Need:**
+ One to two years related experience and/or training in Food Service Management.
+ Must obtain and maintain current Texas Food Handler Certificate or higher certification within 14 days of hire.
+ Must obtain Food Service Manager Certification within 6 months
+ Must obtain ServSafe certification with 1 yearHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).Hospital food services experience
+ Certified Dietary Manager
+ Certified Food Protection Professional
